Progress and pictures

I have finished block 1 on HOHRH. The daily thread thing is working well for me. It seems like there is so little done each day, just a thread or maybe two. It amazes me how fast those single threads can add up. I am waiting til the whole thing is finished to put in the personalization. Who knows how long it will take me!

Also I finished the latest small. It was a very fast stitch. Just two waits at climbing. The fabric is really a pale sky blue colour. I seem to have a very washed out picture.

I'll try and be back tomorrow with my goals post.

The Park and some stash

Most of Tuesday was spent out of the house. I went to a near-by park with my son. It was a nice day.

The Salmon are running. It can be really neat to watch them.

Then last night I finially got my long awaited stash. mmmm... stash.

A finish

I finished my Coffee charts last night.

Here is a picture. I have not decided yet if I want to frame this and put it in the kitchen or if I want to make a pillow out of it. With as rare as I finish my finished I don't think I have to decide anytime soon.

And then there was

no stitching this weekend. Went camping on Friday. It rained, of course. Spent most of the weekend reading. mmmmm.

Finished:
Night of Knives and The Invention of Hugo Cabret, and It's not news it's FARK.

Me thinks I should have picked longer books for my mini challege. heh, ah well... book 9 of the Malazans should slow me down a lot.

I hope to get more stitching in this weekend. There is no way I am going to be finishing page 4 of Fiona this month. Now, I am just hoping to get half way through the page. We were given the last two pages for the chart at the beginning of the month, so since I am working my way down page 4 I will just continue on to page 6 and finish it. Then go back to do page 5. Still thinking I'll have a chance to finish Fiona before the end of the year.

Exchange

My By the Sea exchange arrived in the mail yesteday. It was much to dark to get a good picture by the time I got the mail so I waited until today.

Jean made me a lovely little floss tag. It will be perfect for when I stitch my Sailing Sisters chart next year! She also sent a few thread drops (can't ever have too many of those) and some trim in a lovely blue. Oh, can't forget that really pretty skein of floss either!

grand thought

and failure.

Yup, that was pretty much my day. I really thought there wasn't all that much left on the first block of houses. Here I was thinking I'd be finishing out the day with one whole block done. Woot! right? Well,.... those blocks sure hide a whole lot of stitches! It really looked close to finised, but no! It lied to me. Told me sweet sweet lies of being close to finished when in reality there were many many many strands to go. I would say again, after stitching on it as much as I was allowed today (more on that in a bit) that I am close to a finish on the block--but I don't trust it this time. No no. I will keep quiet. Maybe the finish won't hide on me if I sneak up on it and attack it from behind.

Granted (this is the part I said I'd get back to) I do think I might have finished... maybe... if I had been allowed to stitch for any length of time today. That just wasn't going to happen. My dear sweet husband stayed home sick. And that must mean I have no other things I have to do for the day but run to his whim and his beck and call. After all he wasn't feeling well, so I must wait on him. Of course this evening-- since I didn't get the laundry done after taking care of sicky boy--- he is upset because his clothes aren't clean. I told him I needed to be getting the laundry done earlier, but no... he needed something else right then, and then something else, how about a different movie... nope want a different one. grrrrrr.

I wouldn't mind a sick day. When I am sick I still have to do all my work and no one waits on me!

There... that was quite the whine! I just wanted to sit for a bit and finish block one. Is that so much to ask. And now I really need to set it aside so I can get moving on Fiona again. I'll just be back to a few strands a day on houses.

Can't win for trying.

(and why are guys so difficult when they are sick. you would think they were dying when they just have a little cold!)

Update

sigh, I really need to work on finding clever titles for posts.

I finished up that model I was working on.... really getting tired of those crappy mill hill beads. UGH! I was tossing 8-9 small green beads for every one I could actually put on the piece. Good thing they gave a ton in that kit. Still, I was about ready to pull my hair out due to that.

Sorry for the blurry. I was trying to show off the beads.

I also finished my fall needleroll for the HOE exchange. I'll be mailing that out during errands tomorrow. No picture of that one until my partner gets it.
Still can't show a picture of the By the Sea exchange as I have not heard if my partner has it yet... starting to worry about it.

And last, here is Haze's UFO RR. I put in about 15 hours on it, and am calling that good. I'd have liked to finish up the blue dress more...but, I am putting it away as is. It gets mailed out much later, I just didn't want to get behind and HAVE to work on it. So, I worked on it where I had a lot more leeway.

The before.

The after.

I should get my Lady's Cabinet kit this month too.... I will need to do the work for August on that one when it shows up. started... stalled. I need to frog one whole drawer front and restitch it.

Oh boy, the odds of me finishing all that this month is very low. It will be a busy month, but I can do my best. Reach high and hope to come out somewhere in the middle!

Here is my progress on Houses. Where it was at the beginning of the month.

And where it is now after 1 month of daily strand.

I also have all the boxes outlines, which you cannot see in the photo.
