Another border down

I finished the border on Counting Magpies last night.

I just love borders.  There is something about finishing one that makes me grin.  I guess I get to move on to the middle now.

Or, actually.... since I woke up with the next parts for two of my SALs in my inbox I will work on those.  After that I will move back to Counting Magpies.  Slowly making progress on a few things.

Oh, goodness, and it is a new month!  Yikes!  Well, I hope this month is full of great stitching and health and happy times for all.  :)

Bits and Pieces

Yesterday I decided that I should work on a few of my SALs.  I am behind on my sticklounge group pieces.

So, I pulled out Let it Snow.

And I finished part 6.  Part 7 is already out.

Then I pulled out Zoe Sampler.  It was a new start.

And I finished part 1.  Part 2 is already out.

Then I pulled out stuff to work on for a Spring Exchange I am in.... no photos of that one, but I did finish up the stitching.  All I have to do with it now is to figure out how I want to finish it.

I know that the sticklounge group is super quick at getting people the next part, but I don't think they will be so fast that I won't be working on something else today.  heh.  So, I have pulled out one of my Crazy January pieces to work on today.

I ended up coming down with The Kid's cold.  It is pretty evil.  sigh.  And I have to go out tonight, which I really don't want to do.  meh.  I'll try to sit far away from people so I don't spread the plague.

WIPocalypse #2

A day late for the WIPocalypse report.  All cause The Kid came down with a horrible death cold on his campout.  I've been taking care of him and trying really hard to not catch it myself.  Considering how I feel today.... I am not sure about not catching it myself.  sigh.


So, very little progress has been done on my stitching this past month.  I have no clue what I was doing, but it looks like it wasn't stitching.

Look at the Crazy January page for projects that were finished since the last WIPocalypse.

No progress on any of the sticklounge pieces.

How about Thriller.

Here is where I sit

before the weekend.

I'd be a touch farther, but I had forgotten I needed to finish up some stitching on something The Kid needs this weekend.  As for the campout... I am not going.  I don't go on these campouts as they are for the boys.  heh.  Sometimes I am a little sad about that, but wow is it nasty rainy today!  So glad I get to stay in warm and dry.

Even with both guys gone I will still have a busy weekend and am not sure just how much stitching I will be able to get done.  I am hoping to at least finish the band I have been working on, if not start the next one.  We will see.

Too sleepy

to think up a blog title.  I am so out of energy it isn't even funny.  Ah well.  Must get more sleep.

Spent a bit more time with Thriller.  I would really love to reach a certain point before I pack it away at the end of another busy weekend.  We will see if I can achieve that or not.

The Kid has a campout this weekend and another one next weekend.  Busy times.  If only the weather were nicer.  Ah well, camping means rain.  I just hope it doesn't mean colds and illness too.

Slow stitching weekend

My weekend was very busy so the stitching was more or less non-existent.  It was a good weekend though, so all is well.

Some progress has been made on Thriller.

This piece seems to be moving very slowly.  I guess it is more solidly stitched than I keep thinking it is.  It is also a very soothing piece to stitch so I am not minding that it is taking awhile.  :)

Another busy week and weekend for me right now.  Don't know how my days and nights keep getting filled up with things.  I really need some serious hermit time.

and just a little more

Still moving very slowly on Thriller.  Not too sure if I should keep taking photos everyday when I am getting such a little amount completed.

I do have one for today though.

Spending a lot of time getting ready for the weekend and re-doing some school stuff.  So many things are oddly up in the air and it will take time to get things back into place.

Busy days

lead to very little stitching.  Still any progress is progress.  So....

The Kid went to his first concert last night.  He had a great time.  Rather tired this morning, but that's ok too. I am getting this ready for our annual chocolate party on Saturday.  I can't believe it is that time again!  Of course this means I do not get an IHSW this weekend.  pout.  I am missing those!  I'll have to check the calendar and set one of those weekends aside.

One Line

I guess even doing only one line last night is still some progress.  I've just been exhausted lately.  Yawn!  So, Going to bed early means less stitching.

Got one of the long arm cross stitch lines done on Thriller last night.

Moving on to some letters today.

One of these days I would love to get a good photo of this piece.  The two colours are always off in the photos.  Ah well, that's what I get for living in the Pacific Northwest.  heh

Not a stitching weekend

My weekend was devoured by museums, a company party, and video games.  In addition to all the other normal weekend stuff.  So, not much added to my project.

Still, I did get a bit done.  Though, it looks like I forgot to start one of the flowers on the top!  Oops.  Best do that next time.

I am putting this piece away and will be working on Thriller this week.  I am doing an odd weekly rotation lately.  It is working and I do enjoy it, but I am going to keep it loose or I will not enjoy it anymore!

border border border

Why am I so often drawn to charts with borders?  Oh yeah, because they are awesome!

I spent some quality time working on the next Crazy piece.  It is a bit bigger than the last two so I didn't get it done last night.  Nor will it be done tonight.  And that is fine.  :)

The fancy dinner (OK not really all that fancy) was darn good last night.  It was nice to be able to make some rather than just throw something together.  And, we still have dessert for tonight!

Counting Magpies.... though there aren't any to count right now.

Found out today that The Kid got accepted into a local Jesuit high school.  Which is fantastic and scary all at the same time.  Life will be changing which is good, even when it is scary.

Thanks for the comments on my last finish.  This was the first time I had played with ribbon on a piece like that, I quite enjoyed it and hope to do some more playing at some point.

Yes, another one bites the dust.  I knocked another one off the crazy January list.  Really feeling good about getting all 15 finished this year.

Lizzie Kate's Be Mine Valentine.  It was really a quick stitch.  One of these days I will have to figure out what to do with all these finishes.... but that day is not today.

The piece I am working on next in the Crazy list will not be done in a day. heh.  I might get the border done today.... if I am lucky.

Since we don't have any out of the house requirements today I am planning on making a nice dinner and dessert tonight.  I am really looking forward to that.  A nice dinner.... and no going anywhere.  Ah.

And there was a finish

Yup.  I did get Pink Hare Sampler finished up yesterday.  It feels pretty good to have another one done.  :)

I even took a close up of one of the roses.  It came out a touch blurry.

Two of the overdyeds were kinda the same in colour, but that is ok.  I still enjoy the look.

Today I will be working on another Crazy piece.  If I am lucky I may even get it done!

another title I can't think of

Made some really decent progress on my Crazy January project last night.  In fact I am near to a finish but thought that sleep would be a good idea.  So, I went to bed.  Even with my Tuesday being pretty busy I am sure I will finish this one up today.

Then it will be on to more Crazy January projects.  I am really determined to get all of them finished this year.  :)

Best laid plans

Yes, I had plans to finish all the fill on the x-es this past weekend.  Instead I did pretty much no stitching at all. My Saturday was full of stuff and then Sunday I hid from the world.  Still, the week is up for this piece so away it goes until I get to it again.

This week I will be working on my Crazy January pieces.  I hope I might even finish one, or even two!

Slowly filling

That is all I will be doing for a bit on this piece.  Slowly filling in the border.  At least it is mindless fill.  I don't think I will get all the x-es filled in by the end of the weekend, but I am hoping to be close.  Then I will be moving on to other projects for a little bit.
