And I have finally reached colour! Now that the border is just fill I hope I don't get bored with it. Though, I do only plan to work on in through the weekend before I change to some of my many other WIPs.
Other than that.... life continues to be busy, the weather continues to suck and I continue to stitch.
Hopefully the weekend will be more interesting. :)

This close
to having the black in the main border finished. Hopefully I can finished that last bit off today and then start in on filling all those bits in.
It is kinda meh outside today. A good day to stay inside and stitch. Ah, if only that is all I had to do today. Alas, Things must be done.

XXXXXXX
Stitching so many x-es. I have a skein of black in this piece already. Makes me wonder how much I will be using in a few of the other Scarlet Letter Samplers I have. hmmmm. Good thing I have loads of black.
I am really happy I was watching the chart for this one. The lines between the x-es are almost always 12 stitches.... except on the sides on each side of the fancy x, then they are 15. I caught it while stitching, so needed to do no frogging. That made for a happy stitcher.
Happy Stitching!

WIPocalypse 2013 #1
I was away for the weekend so this is my first chance to post my first WIPocalypse post for 2013. As I did last year, I will be keeping a page updated with my progress through the year.
I started many new things in January, what with the Crazy January 15. Please check out that tab for those, and for the finishes for those.
I worked on a few other things as well.
My SAL with the sticklounge group, Let it Snow.
Here is where it was at the beginning of the year.
And here it is now.
Then there is my piece for The Scarlet Letter Year. I started Black Gryphon on New Years Eve. This is how it looks now.
Other than that I worked on my never ending Granny Stripe Blanket, but there is no photo of that one.

The blanket that would never end
That is what I am working on this week. I started this thing ages ago... and here I am still working away at it. I wanted to make it big enough for the two tall guys in my house. So, row after row after row it goes. It is a rather dull one to photograph progress on so I haven't been. I will either stop at the end of the week with the one. Or I will stop when my wrist gives up on me. Then I will be back with my regular stitching again.
Until then. Happy Stitching all!

More SAL
And with this part done I have now caught up. Not that being caught up will last long. Ha!
I also pulled out my Scarlet Letter piece. The Black Gryhpon.
The outer border met up! Happy border dance. Now to get that inner border done. While this piece is smaller than my other Scarlet Letter pieces, it is a bit bigger than I thought it would be. I am probably just thinking that as I can't wait to get to the gryphon. :)
This weekend is IHSW. I am not going to be too much of a hermit this weekend though. We have a game day on Sunday. I have the house mostly cleaned for it. Amazing the disaster it became while I was really sick. I still don't have tons of energy so I have to take things in stages. Things are slowly getting back to normal. I am looking forward to seeing people on game day. I have been very isolated with this plague.

WIP time
It was really nice to not start anything new yesterday. I pulled out a SAL piece I am doing with the stichlounge group as I am a bit behind. I finished up part 4. Then, as I know how fast they are at getting the next piece out, I decided to work on one of my crazy 15 pieces. I pulled out Day 1, Spots of Winter.
So, here is the SAL.
And here is Spots of Winter. I finished it up, and popped it into the tuck pillow the kit came with.
When I got up this morning part 5 for the SAL was waiting for me in my e-mail. I will get to it at some point today, but I have tons of cleaning I need to do. I am starting to feel better, and as I am the only one to clean the house.... it really needs it. ew. Such an exciting day planned. heh.

Challenge Day 15
The final day of the challenge and I did it. 15 projects started in 15 days. I even finished three of them. Which leaves me with 12 left to do. So, if I finish one a month..... I finish all of them this year. Not too shabby of an idea.
Yesterday I started Delivering Needleworks by Homespun Elegance.
That sheep and I had some issues. There was a really dark part to the over dyed thread I was using. When I stitched the sheep with it it really looked terrible. So, out came the sheep... I snipped out all the dark parts of the overdye and I stitched the sheep again. I am much happier with her now.
Today I will NOT be starting anything new! I must admit I am looking forward to that. heh. I think I will see about getting back up to date on my Sticklounge group pieces. One I joined I have been playing with changing the colours and I am just not happy with it. I will keep futzing with it, but it may end up just being tossed as the two of us can not agree.

Challenge Day 14
Another day another project. :)
I worked on Little House Needleworks Winter Forest.
I even finished it.
One of my birthday presents last month was a ticket to go see Lady Gaga. Even though I am still recovering from the plague and really shouldn't have gone.... I went. If I knew how to get pictures off my phone I would post a few really horrid mobile photos, but I don't. I guess you are lucky. Gaga is an odd duck, but she does an impressive concert. Lots of energy and dancing. Glad I went, but I am sure it did my recovery no good at all.
Now.... to get started on drinking some tea and stitching on the last of my crazy January starts.

Challenge Day 12 and 13
I did stitch this weekend. I just didn't post. There is something about posting on weekends, I just don't do it. Ah well. I can make up for it now.
As I am still dealing with this dratted plague I did a lot of sleeping and tea drinking. I am so ready to be done with this plague. sigh.
On Saturday I worked on Witchy by The Primitive Needle.
I got most of the border done. I would have liked to finish the border, but alas, naps got in the way.
On Sunday I worked on Flower Power December by Ewe & Eye & Friends
At least this time I finished the border. heh. Getting really tired of stitching borders. I want to get to the fun stuff!
Only two days left in the challenge. I am glad I have done it as I tend to skip over starting so many of my smaller projects and this way I have a whole bunch started. Now to get through the next two days.... and hopefully get over this plague.

Challenge Day 11
Nearing in on the final days of the challenge and I am getting ready for it to be over. heh.
Yesterday I worked on Dear Santa by Glory Bee.
Just about halfway done on it. The Kid wanted me to play some games with him last night, and so that is what I did. :) Now he and The Guy are off playing in the snow today. I am still fighting off the evil death plague so stayed home. More blankets, tea, and naps for me. I am getting tired of it. sigh

Challenge Day 10
Yes! It is Edgar who uses that phrase. Thanks so much! My sick brain couldn't come up with it.
Still fighting this crud. It is quite the persistent plague. I have a concert to go to Monday, but at this rate I will have to pass my ticket on to someone else. Sad.
I worked on Keepsake Box & Pinkeep by Blackbird Designs last night.
I horribly miscounted that top flower and had to restitch it... twice. Sigh. The perils of stitching while sick.
There is that lovely camera lens shadow again. Guess I need to stand up to take photos. So much for being lazy.
As I tend to feel just a touch better in the morning than in the evenings with this crud I decided to throw stuff into the crockpot for dinner tonight. Hopefully my crazed tossings make something decent to eat.

Challenge Day 9
It was another day of tea, stitching, and naps. I think I might be feeling a touch better today... that or I just have a different set of symptoms today. I am so ready to be over this thing.
I didn't get quite as much stitching in yesterday. I kept falling asleep. That is good for getting better though, so I am not going to complain. Also, the black thread I was using kept knotting. It was crazy. Something like every third stitch would knot. I have used this brand and colour before and had no problems, so I wonder if it was related to stitching while sick. Who knows.
Curse of the Raven by Carriage House Samplings.
I finished all the black yesterday. And oops, sorry for that shadow, I didn't notice it until I put the photo up here. You gotta love the inatentativeness of being sick. Also, the fabric colour is off, but that is due to the low light levels in winter in the Pacific Northwest. :P
Also, why are some OOP designs so $$$. I have been looking for the three Alpha designs by Sheepish Designs for a bit. They always go more than I can pay on the bay of evil. (drat... who calls it that, it is so perfect I have started using it myself, but can't remember from where!) Ah well, If it is to be I will find them somewhere.

Challenge Day 8
Thanks for all the well wishes. This cold thing is really kicking my butt. I really hope I get over it quick as I have too much I need to do. Sadly, today I am feeling even worse than yesterday. Sleep and liquids, sleep and liquids.
I was asked what fabric I am using on Ode to Snow, and I am sorry to say that I can't remember. I am bad often and don't write that stuff down. I need to get better at this, and am doing so slowly.
Yesterday I started Small Token by Blackbird Designs. Between bouts of napping and multiple cups of tea I ended up with this.
Yes, I finished it. I am still not sure how I feel about the numbers, but I am calling it done and no more messing with it.
My hoop is getting a lot of work with these smalls. I have only one hoop that I really like. It is from my grandmother's stash. She gave it to me when I first really started cross stitching. It just has a nice feel. I don't tend to like using hoops, as I like stitching two handed, but when I have to I pull this trusty gal out. She is going to get more work today. :)

Challenge Day 7
I started something small yesterday with the hopes that I would finish it. Then I ended up playing games all night. Oops.
This is Ode to Snow by The Trilogy.
I seem to have woken up with some kind of plague today. Meh. My new awesome tea maker is going to get plenty of work on this day. As will a blanket. At least as much as I can as I don't have sick days. heh Still gotta teach. Good thing The Kid is old enough to do much of it on his own. But, damn the discussions are going to be hell on my throat.

Day 6 of the challenge
Not too surprised to see I am not the only one who wants a maid. Ah, if only...
The weather today is perfect stitching weather. It is super nasty outside and I don't want to go anywhere! Sadly, that isn't an option. Places must be gone to, errands completed, and The Kid needs to climb. I will put off doing laundry today though.
I am not sure if I will be able to keep up with this challenge. I keep wanting to stitch more on the pieces I have started. heh
KITTYS 115th exemplary by Sheepish Designs.
This one is done with me picking colours that seem to match the picture as I didn't have most of the called for colours.
I think today I will need to stitch on something that doesn't have a border. I am getting a bit tired of just stitching long lines. I want something a bit more fun!
Happy Stitching!

Another Start!
Are you all tired of seeing them yet? heh
Now that all the Christmas decorations are out of the house... I really need to clean! This place is a mess. Sigh. How can putting things away make things messier? I don't understand.
While taking out my projects for my new start the other day, one of my cats found a new cat cave.
He was so sad when I put my basket back. Silly kitty.
My start yesterday was Counting Magpies by Birds of a Feather.
Many of the stitchings I like use a lot of black. heh I got a bit more time to stitch yesterday than I thought i would, but still not much time at all. Why can't I have a maid so I can spend all my time stitching?!?!?!

GASP!
Posting on a weekend. Shocking! But, you do what you have to do when you are doing the Crazy January thing.
Not as much done yesterday, nor will there be on the ones for the weekend as I am getting all the Christmas stuff put away this weekend. Just the tree and outside lights to go now!
Yesterday I worked on Be My Valentine by Lizzie Kate.
It was crazy I used a hoop last night. I haven't done that in ages.... but all my Q-Snaps were just too big to get the fabric the way I liked.

Not too much
Really didn't stitch all that much yesterday. I did do my third start for the year.
This is Pink Hare Sampler by Ewe & Eye & Friends
I think I am fighting off some kinda of crude. I just have no energy. Think I will go make myself some tea and huddle under a blanket.

WIN!
It has been a bit cold here lately. Well, cold for here. Freezing fog the last few days and just generally brrrr. So what do I do last night when I go to pick The Kid up from his climbing class? I lock myself out of the house! Yup. Keys inside, doors locked, me outside. I win. Luckily I only had to wait about an hour for my husband to get home. Sigh. I can't even remember the last time I locked myself out of the house. Can't believe I did that. *hangs head*
Even with all that excitement I started another piece for my January 15. I started Hide and Seek by Shepherd's Bush. Even better.... I finished it as well!
Not too shabby. :) So far (yes, it is only Jan.3) I am very much enjoying this Crazy January thing.

Ah 2013
may this be a year of amazing amounts of stitching for all!
I made a start on my Scarlet Letter Year Sampler on New Years Eve. The Black Gryphon. Just a start.
How rather sad is that. Just a line of the border, and even it isn't finished!
Then.... yesterday. I started my Crazy January 15 in 2013.
This is Winter Spots by Pine Mountain Designs.
Not too shabby for one day of stitching. Today I move onto the next one in line.
I shall also be messing around with the blog today. Gotta get it set up for this 2013 year. :)
