A little more

Thanks for the comments on my PL.  I do hate uneven cut fabric, but I guess I should know better and check my fabric before I stitch.  sigh.  I am still slowly getting better.  I don't mind quite as much as I am able to stitch now.  Thanks for all the get well thoughts, I hope I am all better soon.

Stitched  bit more last night.  I did get to the bottom of the chart... I have enough fabric, just.  When I take it off the Q-Snaps again I will have to take a photo of just how *close* it was to the edge.  Eek!

As you can see I have not finished that motif yet.  They sure are a bit bigger than you think, heh.  I am going to try to finish it tonight.  We shall see...

A decent weekend

First I want to thank all of you for your thoughts.  I took it very easy the last few days and think I am finally starting to heal.  So, thank you for all the get well thoughts, they seem to be working.

I was even able to stitch this weekend!  I was working on Paradigm Lost.  I wanted to get down to the end of the chart on the left side.  As you can see I didn't quite make it.  As you can also see, I didn't check my fabric for even cutting.  I am hoping I won't run out of room on that side!  Eek!  Once I have the left side stitched in I am going to cut the excess fabric off.  This is on a hmmm.. half yard, so there is a bit of extra and it is just getting in the way.  Exciting times.  :P

too old to bounce

That tumble down the stairs I did... well, it is taking me forever to heal up!  So many bruises and pulled muscles. The stitches were taken out of my elbow, but it still hurts a heck of a lot.  I haven't done any stitching at all since my fall!  I am starting to go a little stir crazy.  I am going to attempt to do some stitching today.  We will see if my elbow and shoulder allow it.

I've been wandering blogs and looking at lots of lovelies, but have been having a hard time leaving comments.  Stupid internet, or something.  Anyhow, I am looking and enjoying and trying to comment.  :)

Happy Stitching!

no stitching

I fell over the weekend and banged myself up really great.  I have stitches in my elbow!  Needless to say, there was not much stitching going on.  And there won't be much for awhile.  Gotta heal first.  Hope to be back stitching again soon, I miss it already!

Just call me Pooh Bear

Since I have had very little brain as of late I felt the need to put my owl piece away.  I had to think too much!  I am sure I will get back to it, it is fun, but that might not be until after vacation.

So, I pulled out a WIP and have been working on it the last two days.

Yes, Paradigm Lost has come out for some love.  I will work on this one through the weekend, so watch for another update on Monday.

Good Stitching all!

dratted frog

I knew when I started this piece that it would be a challenge.  Heck, that is part of the reason I started it!  All those new and odd special stitches.

Well, those stitches are giving me fits.  :P  I did get a bit farther though.

See that line second from the bottom.  She calls it Oyster stitch.  It does stitch up neat, but wow, did I have a heck of a time wrapping my brain around it.  Once it clicked all was well, but until that point, ugh!  My tension on it was the hardest thing to get working.  I am really happy with the owl's eyes.
Now I am on to working his wings.  It is a pretty easy stitch, which is good because there is a ton of it.  A ton.  I am hoping to finish his wings tonight.  We shall see.

My owl has five heads

or at least he should.  That is about how many times I stitched it.  It is not even a difficult stitch, I just couldn't count.

In other news, thanks for the comments on my WIPocalypse post.  It's nice knowing people are reading.  :)

I think I will just be working on my owl piece until I catch up.  I can only do so much in a day though... these crazy stitches can get frustrating.  heh.

Here is the piece through part 4.  Part 8 was just released, so I am not too horrible behind anymore.

The first one of the year

And no, I don't mean finish.  :P

It is the first WIPocalypse update!  Now, this first one is a kinda short one, I guess.  I mean, after all we only had  a few days.  That said.... I rocked those days like some kind of fiend.

I worked on three different projects.  So, let's get to them.

First, I was able to finish my Birds of a Feather Mystery by With thy Needle and Thread.  Thanks of the comments on my finishing post for this one.  They are always so nice to read.

Stitched with the Sticklounge group
on unknown white fabric with DMC

Then I finished up the last part of Adriana.  I did this over the weekend so this is the TADA post for her.

Then I started something new.  This is the first two parts of The Great Escape that I am doing with the Stitch Specialists group.

Not too shabby.  snerk

Now to keep up with something close to this productivity for the rest of the year.

A finish!

Thanks for the encouragement!  I was able to finish my piece last night.  Ah, the first finish of a new year.  It was even a WIP.  Feels good.

Called for fabric and threads

Sorry that photo is so dark.  The weather here has been very uncooperative for good photos.

close up of woolly sheep.

This weekend I plan on working on part 6 of Adriana.  If I have super speedy needles I may even have a finish on Monday.  Not likely, but I can dream, right?  I also need to make final decisions on the threads for The Great Escape.  I have the linen picked out, and have been tossing thread around, but so far I am not happy with what I have.  Must poke at it some more.

Wooly woolies

It seems like many people like french knot-y sheep!  How great to hear.  Last night I made my sheep all sorts of wooly.  Then today I read the comments here.  Ah, wooly sheep vindication!

That hill is nowhere near done, but at least one of my sheep has something to stand on.  Time to really get crackin' on that hill.  Mayhaps there will even be a finish tomorrow.  Here's hoping!  Guess I should try stitching too.

Levitating sheep and other things

First I want to thank you all for the comments on my last post.  :)

I picked up the new Long Dog book.  OK, I bought it from Amazon France.

Spent the morning looking through it.  There are some really nice charts in here!  Really just amazing.  I have been slowing parsing out the French as well.  I need all the help I can get, but I do find reading it much easier than conversing.  The patterns themselves are in a folder thing on the left side of the book.  They are on very large sheets of paper.  That means when I get around to starting one I will have to photocopy the pattern to make it functional.  The book has a photo of each piece and a bit of a description/story about it. I'd tell you more, but I am still working on the reading part.  :)  If you like Long Dog charts this is truly a book to get.  I believe it is coming out in an English translation at some point.  I liked the French version and it will be a good keepsake for my time over here.

Now about those levitating sheep.

I did finish all the leaves last night.  I kinda like them.  The Kudzu colour used is one I really like for leaves.  I moved onto Part 3 and did finish that tree as well.  And the sheepies.  Aw.  There they float until I conquer that hill, and that hill looks to have quite a bit of stitching in it.  I've been thinking about going back to the sheep and adding french knots over them.  Give them more of a woolly look.  We will see how I feel after that hill.  I'd love to say I see finishing this tonight, but I think that hill is a two night project.  As you see, I was able to start on the house last night.  Come back tomorrow to find out if either one of the sheep has anything to stand on!

Leaves

I stitched many a leaf last night.  Sadly, not all of them.

So very close to finishing part 2, but I was tired so went to bed instead.  heh.  Today those leaves will be finished and I plan on getting a start into part 3.  Maybe I will be able to finish the second tree today as well?  Perhaps?  Wish me luck.
Now though, I am off to wander blog land to see what I can see of those crazies who have started the Crazy January thing.

back to normal

or at least what passes as normal in my world.

The holidays are over.  People are back to work.  In this house is it back to school and chores and all that.  I spent a goodly bit of yesterday working on my stitching.  I also ended up joining a new stitchy group.  Their projects are full of specialty stitches, something I need to practice and improve on.  I will be starting the group piece in the next few weeks, after I pull together threads.

In the meantime.

I did try to stitch on New Years eve... all I got done was A, B, C.  Everything else of part 2 was stitched on the 1st.  As you can see, my poor tree needs some leaves.  I will be adding those today.  I may not get all the leaves on, but at least my tree will be looking a bit less bare!  Once those leaves are done, I will have finished part 2.
