Thanks for all the great comments on my WIPocalypse post. I do so love reading them. Makes it seem as if I am not just talking to an empty room. :P
First thing up. I have finished Skeleton Crew. Oh yes! And I did it before Halloween, even better.
It was a fun pretty easy stitch. The glow in the dark thread wasn't all that hard to work with and I think makes for a neat look. I tried to get a photo of the piece in the dark, but my night photo skills are really terrible. It doesn't help that I have no tripod or a place to set the camera. I had to hold it during a long exposure.... which leads to lots and lots of blur!
Still I think this terrible photo does give you an idea of how the threads look in the dark. They are really quite bright! I would use these threads again if I wanted things to glow. :)
Once I finished that up I decided it was about time to start a new Sticklounge piece. So, I did! I even finished up the first part they sent out for this chart. I haven't yet put the beads on. I will do that when I am all finished with the piece. I don't think I picked a piece of fabric big enough for the entire thing, so will play with how to make it smaller as I get the pieces of chart sent to me.
Since I finished that up as well I figured I needed something else to work on. Since I am back in the states I have all the in storage stash I left here. I pulled out a piece I started awhile ago. Catherine Agnes. So full of specialty stitches... so pretty.... so hard. This is where it was when I packed it away.
I don't know if I will work on this until it is finished or just work on it until I want to pull my hair out.
Sigh, I really need to get my camera taken in for some work. It just won't focus well most of the time anymore.
Happy Halloween!

Goodness and Golly
It is the 11th WIPocalypse posting. How crazy is that. This year is almost over! Eep!
I did get some good stitching in the past month. Only worked on two things.
First, Crystal Ball.
Here is where she was last check-in.
And now.
Yes, she is finally finished. I completed her on Oct. 6. Feels so good to have her done, and she looks even better in person. :)
After I put her in my WOOOO finish pile I decided to work on something new. Since it was October I thought something Halloween might be fun. I pulled out Skeleton Crew.
I have the bottom all finished, I just didn't have the energy to unscroll the whole thing. I have half hopes of finishing this one on Halloween. We will have to wait and see. I am stitching the sails in glow-in-the-dark thread. It is kinda strange to work with, but I think I will like having it done.
Happy Stitching all!

another one bites the dust
Another IHSW that is.
I was asked how big this piece is.... well, I am stitching it on a piece of fabric 21x27. It is big.
Also, when I said I was going to try to get a whole mast done this weekend .... I really meant a whole sail! Yeah, that's it.
I was a bit more busy this past weekend than I expected. I was not a good hermiter.
Those sails are huge! They don't look it, but wowza. Lots and lots of white stitches there. Maybe I will finish this mast today. And maybe I won't.
It got cold here this past weekend. I actually turned on the heat! I always try to push it til November before I turn on the heat, but I was freezing!
Hope you all had a great stitching weekend.

the weekend begins
I was too tired to stitch on Wednesday night. Went to bed early and slept for 12 hours. Yeah, I think I was tired. Decided not to post on Thursday with the super exciting information of.... I slept.
Last night I worked on Skeleton Crew some more. Took a photo last night before bed. Yes, that is the TV shining through the fabric.
I get to move on up into the masts this weekend. All those big white sails. I have been warned no to leave them til last. heh. I am going to do a mast at a time. I hope that spreads them out well enough.
It is IHSW. I am pretty busy tonight and tomorrow so I am not sure how much stitching will get done. Not doing the hermit part too well this time around. heh. I hope to get one mast done.... but that might be a reach.

Sea serpent!
Yesterday was really busy and got away from me. So much to do so little time. Running around like a crazy person.
Here is Skeleton Crew now.
As you can see I have started the sea serpent. I just love him. I don't know how well it's hair shows up in the photo, but it is too fun.

Slow stitching weekend
My weekend was full of STUFF and THINGS. I have started trying to put my wardrobe back together. Which, of course, means shopping. I hate clothes shopping. A lot. However, I buckled down and spent Saturday doing such a miserable chore. I now have non-summer clothes! I may not freeze my butt of now. I don't have much clothing, but it is at least a start. I spent a large part of Sunday at a CPR class. It had been many many years since I last took one, so the Husband, the Kid, and I went off to learn. It was nicely well done and I now know the new version of CPR. After that there were regular chores and then I was sucked into Civ 5. Needless to say, there was very little stitching.
As you can see I did get a little bit in, and in the end that is all that matters. :)

witch words
Freezing my butt off since I only have a few summer clothes and nothing else. sigh.
So, stitching under a blanket it will be.
Did a bit more last night, but didn't get as much stitching time as I thought I would have.
Hopefully I will have more stitching time this weekend.
Happy Stitching!

Nearly a boat
I was asked a question about my BAP workings. I don't grid as I find it doesn't help me any. I stitch line by line and I park my threads. Since I work this way I don't see that gridding would do me any good. If I were to work cross-country style I would imagine gridding would be some help.
Also, my clothes are still all lost, along with several other things, including my cross stitch stand. We are waiting to hear from the insurance adjusters. For now, I freeze my butt off as I have no clothes and the few that were packed in my luggage were all summer clothes. sigh
I worked a bit more on Skeleton Crew last night.
This photo is a much better example of the fabric, but still doesn't show it off well. I am hoping to get the witch lady done tonight.

A new start
First, I want to thank you for all the great comments on my finish. They were lovely to read.
Second, the "tomorrow" mentioned in my last post obviously meant "a few days". Oops. Amazing how life can get in the way of both stitching and posting.
As I had stated I started a new piece when I finished Crystal Ball. I thought something smaller and seasonal might be nice. I started Skeleton Crew by Cross Eyed Cricket.
I am not used to doing long lines of colour after Crystal Ball, heh. This one is working up pretty quickly. The colour in that photo is very off. The fabric is a weird green, not ... hmmm... beige? I'll do my best to get a better photo up next time.

OH YES!!!!
Bring out the music and bring out the dancing shoes it is Happy Dance Time!
Crystal Ball
Golden Kite
Finished Oct. 6, 2012
I started this back in 2005, I think. Wow. It sat for many years not being worked on at all. This year I finally decided this was the year to really work on it. Now it is finished. She is even more amazing in person. I just love all the detail in this piece. So happy. :)
I did start a new project over the weekend, but won't be sharing it til tomorrow. I wanted Crystal Ball to have a post all to herself.

Half a page
Thanks for the great comments on my post yesterday. I love reading them.
Last night I was stitching away on page 20. When I hit half a page to go I figured I best go to bed or I would stay up all night to finish the page and end up being dead today. I have to much to do today to be dead, so to bed I went.
Ew. Slightly blurry there, sorry.
There will be a finish this weekend! Come back Monday to see it. Squee!!!!!
Happy Stitching all.

Page 19
Oh yes! I finished up page 19 last night. There just might possibly be a happy dance over the weekend! Don't hold your breathe though. :P
Just a tiny bit of dress left on that right side and then the background. I can smell the finish here. :)

Closer
Getting close to finishing page 19. My finger is better, so I was able to stitch a little bit last night. Tuesdays are a busy day for me so I don't get much stitching time. I tried to do all I could in that bit of time. :)
Page 19 should be finished today. Then to move on to THE LAST PAGE. OMG! Dust off those dancing shoes you are going to be needing them soon.
The drama with my missing clothes continues. The company in Brux that did the moving is being very Belgian in that they are not doing anything, even though all know they are at fault. I still have a faint hope that I will get my things. Sadly, each day that hope gets more and more faint. Not much to be done about it. But, wow am I super pissed off. And I want to cry.
Start school with The Kid this week. We have never started school this late in the year. The international move and then one of the main history books being on hold really pushed things late. That said.... things seem to be moving well for the start.
May you all have a good stitching day.

teehee
I am kinda glad to see you are all having a hard time deciding as well. That makes me feel a bit better about my indecision. :) I will wait on making a decision for a bit so anyone can feel free to go to my Plan post and comment. :)
There is no stitching photo today as I did something weird to my finger yesterday and it hurt too much to stitch! I was at such a loss because of this last night!
Remember, Please go to my Plans for 2013 post and tell me what you think. :)

Planning for 2013
Decided to get to work on this sooner rather than later.
So many plans, so many ideas, so many projects, so little time. Please, help me decide what I should do next year in my stitching life.
What should it be?!
1. The year of Mirabilia.
Think these projects and more!
2. The Year of HAED/GK
Think one of these ...
Or this?
3. The Year of Chatlaine
Think these ...
What plan do you want to see spill out over the next year? Comment and let me know! Anyone is welcome to comment. You, friends, the person on the street, your pets, even household appliances.

Maidens of the Seasons
2. The Year of HAED/GK
Think one of these ...

Or this?
Meeting on the Turret Stair
3. The Year of Chatlaine
Think these ...
Celtic Maze Garden
Convent's Herbal Garden
Persian Iris Garden
4. The Year of Cities (appropriate after my year in Europe)
Think these ....
Amsterdam
London
Paris
Rome
St. Petersburg
5. The year of Samplers
Think this and more
Austrian Spot Sampler
English Whitework Sampler
I sigh not for beauty
Ann Grimshaw
6. The Year of Canvas
Think along these lines (counted canvas only)
Celtic Knot
Nova
Rainforest Crunch
Nearly all these themes have more projects so most of this is just a taste. The Chatlaine and the Cities show only what I have.
Also.... do I join the insanity of Crazy January? Start 15 projects in the first fifteen days of January?

Moving down the page
A semi-stitching weekend. Still getting over this cold, and trying to move what stuff we did get back into the house. My clothes are still missing from the move. sigh So, I threw myself into my stitching to try to forget. :)
Got a bit more done on page 19. I think I should be able to finish this page Tuesday, and then onto the last page!
I am starting to make plans for what I want to do in 2013. So far I have way to many ideas and no clue how to edit them down. Perhaps I can ask you all what I should do? I'll see about putting up a post for that sometime this week.
