Back to the houses

Now that I am up to date with my SALs I am back to stitching on HOHRH. Let me tell you I made some super stunning progress last night on block 9. Such a super speedy stitcher am I.

blistering speeds I say. snerk

Three A's

A SAL.

Here is part two of the iStitch SAL. This is a cute little piece, and very easy to stitch up.

Adriana.

Here is Adriana. This is part one of the Sticklounge SAL. I love the art deco-y look to this one.

And last A.... Amsterdam.

Amsterdam is am amazingly beautiful city. I was quite amazed.

TADA!

Those Hawk Run boys can even paint in the rain! :) The house was painted in just over two days... I must be a slave driver. No worries, I sent them home to rest and gave them some extra time off.

Here is block 8. All happy and finished up.

And here is The Hollow as it is stitched now. Don't mind the wrinkles. ugh. Now it's time to put this away for little bit.
I need to work on a SAL for the Sticklounge Yahoo Group. I just started it last night. Hope to show you part one soon.

One sided

Those painters got to work last night. I now have a one sided house. :) Looks like there might be a block finish tonight. Yippie.

House painters on vacation

The house painters of Hawk Run Hollow, that is. That must be the reason that block 8 is still unfinished. Instead of working all weekend those painters seem to have run off for some fun! Imagine the gall of that! Well, since there will be no updated block pictures let's see where those painters got off to...

Hmmm... seems like a trip to Brugge.

Looks like they spent some time at this beautiful park.

Ah, the reason Brugge is called the Venice of the North.

Looks like another Belfort was visited.

Oh my, look at those stairs! I was told there were 366 of them.

But look at those views.... so worth it.

I guess the painters deserved their break. But, I will put them to work tonight.

A Cat and a floss change

My progress on the next block. I had contemplated changing the flag to the Belgium flag as a way to remember living here. As you can see I decided not too, but I did use a true red thread instead of the called for one, which was orange, and that just seemed wrong.

I shall be working on this again tonight. I hope to get a bit more done. As always.

And three houses more

Makes for a finished block.

TADA!

I actually get to move on to a touch more of the verse in the next block. A touch being two more words. heh. I will most likely start block 8 today/tonight. Could there be another mini-happy dance by the end of this weekend??? Doubtful! But I can always hope.

Houses and Hills

Block 7 is coming along. I really like the little hills in this block. The flower in them is just fun. Now just a few more houses in this block and "POOF" another block done. Amazing how much can get finished when you just sit down and stitch instead of dorking around on the computer. (blush) Let's see if my willpower, and mojo, can keep going.

another new start

But first.... I was asked why I didn't like the backstitching in block 6. When I first put it in, I wasn't a careful as I would have liked and it looked all chunky and terrible. That is why I took it out to redo.... stitcher error completely. Once I took my time with it, it looks great.

And now....

Yeah yeah yeah, I know.... I should get some more project finished, or at least past the bothersome middle stage before starting something new. sigh. I am bad at waiting. And this is a Mystery SAL, so I HAD to start it now! That's what I am telling myself.

Here is part one of the iStitch Mystery SAL. As you can see I thought about doing it over 2, but changed my mind. I am liking the over 1 so much more.

Hmm, hopefully the next picture can be taken with some sunshine. I didn't use plain black thread, though it is a very dark thread with some black in it.

I am still plugging away at the next HOHRH block. This one is nice as it is broken up into pieces. Makes it feel faster after Mr. Solid Block. Perhaps I will post a progress picture of it tomorrow.

In which there was some frogging

I finished up block 6 last night. Decided to take a picture in the morning and went to bed. Then, this morning I look at the block and decide I hate how I stitched in the backstitching on the house. Hate it. So, out it all goes. Froggy, froggy, froggy. Blech. I look at the house again.... I can't NOT do the backstitching as it just doesn't look right to me. Mess around a bit, and then, back in goes the backstitching, but done much better this time. Now I am finally happy and yet again block 6 is finished. :)

Sorry for the darkness of the photo... We are having some rather cloudy days. :P

I have also semi-edited the progress bars on the left. I didn't bring all those project, so the ones that stayed in storage now have their progress shown in a red bar. I didn't want to just deleat my bars! (I do have plans to add a project or two this month though. I am a bad bad girl.)

touritsy overload

I did way to much travel run around this weekend to be able to finish my HOHRH block. Still filling in with all that black.... that really is a deceptively huge amount of stitching.

So, today you get a handful of pictures of Ghent.

View of the skyline of Ghent from the top of the Belfort.

Stairs in Het Gravensteen

Skyline view of the tower of St Baafskathedraal

Hopefully tomorrow I will be back with photos of a finished block 6. My feet need a good long break today. That, and I need to do laundry. heh

Black, black, black

black, number one.

That is what is in my future. Lots of black as I fill in this block. :)

Not sure how long that fill will take me, but hopefully on Monday there should be a finished block picture to show.

My stuff my stuff

I got my stuff!

Yes, the movers finally showed up yesterday. All my stuff that got sent here is now here. Grant you, a bunch of my stitching has stayed in storage for the year.... it's a pricy thing to move internationally. :P That said, my stuff for the year is here. I am happy. Now it's time to settle in here and try and make this place feel as much like home as I can.

I will say.... I don't like having other people move me. Nope... don't like it. Why? you ask.... this is why.

sigh. At least nothing was broken... just a few things dented. grrr.

Since I was working on unpacking and the like the little tiny bit of stitching I did get done really isn't worth taking a picture of. I hope to be able to more stitching soon, perhaps tonight?

I also notice that I am late making monthly goals. (Not that I have been doing so well making them this year--shhhhhhh) So, without futher ado.

August Goals!

1. Make lots of progress on HOHRH.

That's it!

Progress???

Hello all! Glad to see that even after my long blogging break that there are still some people popping over to read. :)

I am enjoy Brussels quite a bit.... I have never lived outside the USA as an adult, so this is a great adventure. Can't wait to get my stuff from the movers though. Tomorrow they tell me. We shall see.
I didn't get as much stitching done this weekend as we did a very long city wander on Sunday. Great for the seeing things, bad for the stitching. heh.

I am fighting off a killer migraine now, so am not sure if I will be doing any stitching at all today.

HOHRH block 6

This is all my progress on block 6. Maybe another update tomorrow, maybe not... it all depends on my stupid head.

And now, a photo of out trip yesterday. I don't want to overload my blog with travel photos, at least not too terrible much!
