those things I need to do

I have been pulling out a lot of my old old old UFOs to see what I should stitch. I am now working on French Flower Shop again. It has been years. I am not used to working on Aida anymore, and the needle feels like I am stitching with a giant log! But, I would like to get it finished. Here is what it looks like before starting it up again.

I really thought I had more than this finished. But, I am not quite halfway done. Ah, well. It is getting worked on again.

In going through my old UFOs I found one that has gotten terribly stained. And nothing can be done to fix it so I need to toss it. Ouch. It was a mostly finished BAP too. Just goes to show I need to get all my old UFOs back into a rotation and get them finished.

Fiona

I did finish page 2 of Fiona last night. Does it count as before getting page 4 as I didn't open my e-mail to find that page til this morning? heh

But, the page is done. Now on to French Flower Shop for about 5 days stitching before I go to page 3.

Fiona...and other things

I have been working on her for a bit now. And I am hoping to get the second page done by this weekend. Just in time for page 4 to come out! I'll post a picture of her with the 2nd page done.

I have signed up for the "By the Sea" exchange on HOE. I already have thoughts and plans of what I might like to do for that one.

I have also signed up for another whirl on a UFO RR. Today I go to the post office to mail off the last one for this trip. I really feel bad about this one. I didn't get all that much done on it as most of the work I put in a tore right back out. I think there was one section I ripped out... 4 or 5 times. So there really isn't much more done on it than when I got it... and drat that makes me feel terrible. But, I was having the damnedest time stitching it! I don't know... TW borders and I must just not get along. Hopefully with this next round I won't have a lame duck sending of my stitching.

adding stash adding stash

I've been doing a lot of that lately. But, at least I am not buying charts. I am getting fabric, some just for on hand stash (nice neutral colours) and some for particular charts. And floss floss floss, again mostly to kit up stuff. I guess this is what I end up doing when I can't start new things... I kit up tons of new things! This will be handy next year if I decide to do the whole chart challange thing... I may not have to be buying ANYTHING during it... not just no new charts. heh. Unless I run out of floss in the middle of a project.... or beads. I will say it is fun to go shopping through my charts and see what all I want to do. I have a small stack of ones I know I will never do, now just to find a good way of getting them out of the house.

My weekend was pretty busy. Weddings, b'day parties, and bike rides. Didn't do any stitching because in my down time I was playing LORTO. I might do another day or two of that... then back to my stitching. Fiona is calling to me and I would love to finish page 2.

A finish, and thoughts

First some thoughts. After kitting up a ton of my charts that have just been sitting around I am now thinking that next year it might be a good idea to do a 50 chart challenge. I could easily finish 50 things and still have more to stitch. Scary. I need to think more about this.

And now a finish! Last night I finished up the Big Zipper. I started it.. mumbulty mumble. And now it is done. Feels good to have it done.

those plans... and model stitching

I have sucessfully avoided any new starts. Thanks all for commenting and telling me you feel the same about wanting to start new things... and that sticking with fewer, or one, can indeed make projects get done faster! I do know this. heh. But need to kick myself with the reminder. Being overwhelmed with WIPs is not a good place to be, which is why I did the no new starts year. And when I do get to start new things... well... I know that I have tons I get to choose from that are just waiting for me!

The last few days there have been no new words from Boo Club. And that is because I was waiting on a thread I had run out of! Once I got it I just zoomed through the last words and now it is all finished and ready to mail off. It feels good to get it done. Now to work on my last UFO RR piece. It has a mail date of July 7, I think. No worries there, I am on it now.

Plans, plans, and more plans

My plan this year has been to have no new starts... this is so I can actually finish some of the many many WIPs I have sitting around looking at me so pathtically.

However, I have spent the last week kitting up new projects. Now I have all these new pretties looking at me and begging me to start them. The real problem is I WANT to stitch all the things I have as WIPs and all my now kitted projects. And I want to do it all NOW! I need to just focus and work on each piece I have current in a rotation. Then I will really finish things.... and next year I won't feel as terribly guilty about started new ones. I'd love to get my WIPs down to 6 or 7. I have so many more right now.... languishing away.

But, my new pretties.... heh
Like Mary Wigham, Catherine Agnes, Convent's Herbal Garden, Anne Grimshaw, English Whitework Sampler, Three Things Sampler, And they sinned, St. Petersburg, Grand Marquior, mystery sampler -from last year, spot mystery sampler -from this year, and I could go on... and on....

Order! I need order, and structure... and to stay with my no new starts. So.... sigh... back to stitching on my WIPs and just drooling over my wanted new starts.

More Boo Club

The sore hands have recovered. Back to showing more words.

I am now at the halfway point! A couple more days should see a finish. I hope.
